What Is Avocado Milk?
We know what you’re thinking. Avocado milk… really? Isn’t this just the ultimate trend for Instagramers? Well actually, Avocado milk is a thicker milc that packs a decent punch in terms of nutrition. Environmentally it doesn’t perform as badly as you’d expect, either!
How Is Avocado Milk Made?
Avocado is made by blending avocados with oat milk (this can be done with other milcs, but the only company in the market so far uses oat milk). Natural flavours and water are also added to give the desired taste and texture.
How Does It Taste?
Avocadomilk blends their avocado milk with oat milk to create a more drinkable consistency. In fact, the oats have a strong taste in this drink, so if you’re not a fan of oat milk, then this wouldn’t be the milc for you either.
Nutrition And Health
The only company selling Avocado milk is a brand that has given itself the original name of Avocadomilk. They claim their milc is free from cholesterol and artificial flavouring and colours. They also claim that due to the B vitamins in avocados, their avocado milc helps to boost your immune system and ward off infections and disease.
Vitamins
Avocados have high levels of B vitamins, as well as vitamins C, E and potassium.
Healthy Fats
Over 75% of the fat in avocados are unsaturated.
Environmental Footprint
Avocados are notorious for having a bad environmental footprint. Carbon Footprint Ltd found that just two small avocados have almost twice the CO2 footprint of a kilo of bananas. However, as Avocadomilk is the only company in this space so far, it is easy to determine how bad the avocado milc market really is.
They claim to use the “ugly, imperfect fruit” in their final product and only irrigate with rainwater. Moreover, their packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic and they use 100% vegetable inks for labelling.
