Moma, based in East London, started out as a breakfast stall in Waterloo station in 2006. Founder, Tom, sold a range of oat smoothies and bircher muesli products to hungry commuters and has since branched out into supermarkets and further product ranges.
The company is all about oats, with MOMA an acronym for ‘Making Oats More Awesome’, this is certainly a philosophy we can get behind.
The company launched its oat milc range in November 2019, taking a step outside of breakfast products and competing with some big names in the industry. They’re certainly well versed in making delicious oat products so it’s not a surprise that these oat milk options have landed well with consumers.
The company has a strong stance on sustainability and giving back to the community. They have worked to provide breakfast to school children and also taken steps to improve the packaging used on their products.
We admire the work Moma is doing both in their community and also in the plant milc world and look forward to what the future holds.
Oat Original
Best For Tea and Cereal
This original oat milk comes from a company experienced in producing great oat products and this isn’t a disappointment. The milc tastes great in cereal and mixes with tea perfectly, unlike what can be said for other vegan milc in the industry.
This is a shelf-stable product that comes in ambient packaging, meaning you can store this in bulk in a cupboard so you don’t have to dash to the shops when you use the last drop in the fridge. Once opened, you should consume within 5 days.
This milc is fortified with Vitamin D, B3, B12 and Calcium to help you get these essential vitamins into your daily routine.

Oat Barista Edition
Best For Your Morning Coffee
This barista edition milc comes up against some big brands in the barista oat milc space, and it does well to hold its own. It froths reasonably well but the foam isn’t quite as thick as other barista milc’s in the market. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but more suited to a latte than a cappuccino. This milc follows other oat barista blends with its creamy texture and neutral taste.
As this is barista milc it’s best used for a frothy latte coffee but also as a replacement to any cows milc version. The relatively high-fat content means we wouldn’t recommend it for use on cereal – there are better alternatives out there for that. It also comes fortified with Vitamin D, B3, B12 and Calcium to help you meet your vitamin recommended daily allowances.
It comes in ambient packaging so can be stored in a cupboard until its expiration date. Once opened it should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 5 days.

Moma Summary
Moma has a small product range but they come with a big impact, providing oat lovers what they need for their daily life and coffee cravings.
Their products are all oat-based, our favourite here at Plant Milc! We’re excited to see if they broaden their product range this year, potentially a low-calorie milc could be next, but we’ll have to wait and see.
